How to overcome nerves for your boudoir shoot

Are you nervous to book your photo shoot? I UNDERSTAND HOW YOU FEEL!

It’s normal to be nervous when stepping out of your comfort zone, getting semi-undressed in front of a stranger, maybe not being totally comfortable with your body, posing, makeup, hair to name a few reasons… it can be overwhelming!

I have found that the first step to overcoming your fears is to do the very thing that scares you! Step outside of the box you created for yourself!

I’m going to be honest with you. It’s not unusual for my clients to feel nervous when it’s time to start shooting, but once we get going, I can usually watch the nerves begin to melt away.

I start by encouraging my clients to wear outfits that cover the most skin first, and then we work our way towards those that are more revealing.

Also, I talk a lot. I mean a lot. You won't have to worry about "What should I be doing right now?" I will stay in constant communication with you so you will always know where to look, what to do or how to move your body.

By the time we’re done, we’ll both be laughing and having so much fun that you’ll forget about how nervous you were when you arrived. Trust me, I won’t feel like a stranger for long. (I promise, I am a big dork when it comes to lighting and shadows, and may just let out a super loud "GIRL - you look AH-MAZING" a time or two. or three.)

Still wondering if you to have invent your own poses? No you don't, this is my expertise, and I am trained to work with you to find the poses that make you feel comfortable and sexy, and that best flatter your body. My studio has different pieces of furniture and various backdrops and props that we’ll use to complement your wardrobe and your figure.

What about my “problem areas?” Will you Photoshop the parts of my body that I don’t love? Part of the boudoir photo experience is learning to love every part of your body. But if there’s a certain area that you feel less than in love with, we will work together to plan the right wardrobe, poses and lighting and I'll put the emphasis on the areas that you DO love.

By maintaining an honest and open dialogue throughout your session, we can focus on highlighting the areas that you do love. I use the post-production process to complement the beauty that you already possess; I do not use it to change who you are.

You don’t have to wait until you love everything about your body or until you get younger… you are perfect right now. I promise. Reach out to me HERE.
