What to wear for your shoot

I can’t stress enough how important wardrobe is to a successful session, but picking what to wear should be a fun task rather than a daunting one, and you don’t have to go it alone. I’m happy to provide my advice on what works and what doesn’t, but there are some area stores whose staff are ready and willing to help you find lingerie that fits you properly. Nordstrom’s, Victoria’s Secret, Torrid and Soma all have bra-fitting specialists that can measure you in order to help you find the perfect fit.

As an added bonus, I have a wardrobe closet filled with goodies of various sizes and styles that you’re welcome to try (excluding panties, of course). I even have garter belts you can wear and thigh highs that are yours to keep.

Depending on your personal sense of style, the areas of your body you want to highlight, and the look you’re trying to achieve, there are countless ways you can dress to impress for your session, but here are my favorite five.

Bra & panty set

With so many sexy options in bra and panty sets available, you can’t go wrong with one of these. I want to stress again the importance of a properly fitting bra. Make sure the girls aren’t smashed flat or spilling of the cups, and you want the skin around your armpits to appear smooth as opposed to bulgy. I understand the temptation of push-up bras, but resist those that make your breasts look unnatural.

Corset

There’s nothing better than a corset to give you the appearance of killer curves and an accentuated waist. Corsets usually have ties in the back that are meant to cinch your waist for an hourglass shape. A long line corset can help you look smooth and slender, and can create the illusion of curves if you’re not naturally curvy.

Bustier

A bustier is similar to a corset in coverage, but is perhaps a better choice if you want your breasts front and center because it has built-in cups to help support them. Bustiers don’t normally cinch at the waist like corsets do, but there are some hybrid styles that can both narrow the waist and lift the breasts, and who doesn’t want that?

Teddy

A teddy is what is often thought of as a sexy little nightie, and is typically a one-piece garment that provides a bit more coverage than some of our other choices. The fun thing about teddies is that you can find them in a number of styles, colors and materials. From long and silky to short and sheer, you can’t go wrong with one of these in your wardrobe selections.

Bodysuit

If you’re looking for something that will hug and highlight every curve, a bodysuit is the way to go. These form-fitting, stretch garments are great for boudoir because are tight, smooth and can help accentuate your legs.

When you schedule your shoot with me, you don't have to worry about a thing! I will help you to plan the most perfect wardrobe or we can plan for you to use our growing lingerie closet.
